individuals and families, who spend more than they take in. Nearly one out of four Americans lives from paycheck to paycheck and has no personal savings. One out of five owes more on unsecured debt than they have in savings. The answer to this problem is to spend less, earn more and pay off debts. One of the Bible’s wealthiest men was King Solomon. He was also considered a leader with a gift of wisdom, meaning he knew how to solve problems and give solutions to complicated issues. He penned three books in the Bible: Proverbs, Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes. In the Proverbs, Solomon gave several reasons why people experience financial lack or fail in their economic and business success. These wisdom proverbs are practical for every generation. 1. Easy Money Comes and Easy Money Goes Solomon wrote: An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed. P ROV . 20:21 An inheritance is passed on to heirs through an estate that someone leaves after their death. This is usually distributed by a written will or a legal trust fund. Over the years I have heard horror stories of relatives fighting over jewelry, bank accounts, furniture, property, cars and other possessions after the death of a family member. Do not assume that your children will know what to do with your belongings when you depart this life. If money or possessions are involved, family members will act in ways you would not have imagined. Put your desires for distribution in a legal will or trust fund, including details of each possession and to whom it is willed. When a financially unstable child (of any age), or a child with an addiction gets access to mom and dad’s cash, rest assured it will be spent quickly and it will feed addictions. My wife and I have a trust fund that says if I precede her in death, she receives all I have. Then when she dies, or if we both pass at the same time, our two children receive the inheritance. However, there is a written clause which says that, if my children are on illegal drugs, addicted to legal narcotics, or drinking any form of alcohol, they receive nothing until they can prove they are
