Developing Close Friendships With the Wrong People This is a great challenge for young people. You tend to become like those with whom you associate, so choose your friends carefully. Just as leaven in bread will cause it to rise, the words and actions of others will cause their bad seed to produce weeds instead of fruit. Weeds choke the life out of anything good that might grow. If your friends are lazy, gossipers, complainers, procrastinators, immoral and so on, there is a good chance they will influence you rather than you influence them. Those who walk with wise men will be wise, and those who are the companion of fools will be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20). C LUES Y OU N EED FOR C AREER S UCCESS People are more successful when doing something they enjoy, simply because it never seems like work, and they tend to be very good at that which they enjoy. Everybody has at least one thing they can do that will bring them joy and success in life. Every person will be happier if they discover how to find the job that enables them to both make a living and enjoy it, instead of simply doing something they don’t like, just to earn a living.

How can you determine your gift that will lead to job success? Here are some clues that will help.

Clue #1—What Is Your Passion? The burden that you carry, the desires that you have, and the passion you have for something are keys to God’s direction for your life. What do you love to do? Is there something that you daydream of doing? If you could do anything you wanted to do, what would it be? Your answer will be a clue to the direction of God’s purpose for your life. You will excel at whatever that might be.
