DREAMING OF YOUR OWN DEATH As parents, we are all concerned about our children, and often in our subconscious we find our minds musing on the numerous possibilities of what could bring harm to them, especially when they are infants or children too weak to defend themselves. We all know there are promises of angelic protection for our children (Matt. 18:10). This subconscious concern can lead to silent worry, which, in return, causes tormenting dreams that something terrible will happen to them. Because my mother became pregnant at age forty, she was very protective of her little girl Melanie, as any mother would be. Mom said she would have tormenting dreams of something bad happening, but she realized this was the adversary causing her to fret. The same occurred after my son was born. I dreamed several times that he died as a child. Pam and I prayed each day (and continue to pray) that an angel of the Lord would protect our son and our daughter. When Jonathan was about four, we were staying in a hotel in Maryland. His mother was downstairs doing laundry, and I was in a room beside him where he was watching television. Pam came in and said, “Where’s Jonathan?” I relied, “He’s in the next room.” She walked through the door adjoining the rooms, and he was not there. We panicked!
