beginning to develop, He has eternally foreseen every detail of it and has already devised perfect plans for coping with the problem. In His foreknowledge He waits to give us the ideal solution. Daniel’s experience is an excellent demonstration of this fact. As soon as he began to pray, the answer to his petition was al ready on its way to him. While he was still in prayer an angel came to him with the reply. “While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the L ORD my God for his holy hill—while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. He instructed me and said to me, ‘Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and un derstanding.’” Daniel 9:20–22. This infinite capacity of our great Problem Solver is well summed up in the following statements: “Those who surrender their lives to His guidance and to His service will never be placed in a position for which He has not made provision.” The Ministry of Healing , 248.2. “In every difficulty He has His way prepared to bring relief. Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us, of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service and honor of God supreme will find perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet.” The Desire of Ages , 330.1. We can rest in the assurance that whenever a problem ap pears, God already has the solution to it. We do not need to be anxious, for we have only to cast all our cares upon the Lord and wait patiently for deliverance. In fact, the more complicated the problem, the more joyously we can anticipate a remarkable dis play of God’s proficiency as Problem Solver. Such an attitude is sadly not natural for us, and therefore we must apply ourselves diligently to the task of acquiring this habit if we want “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding.” Philippians 4:7.
