When the attractive wife of Potiphar threw herself at Joseph, he could have “gone with the flow” and committed adultery. But if he had, instead of being sent to prison for being accused of the act, he would have been killed for performing the act. Joseph remembered the two dreams he had as a youth of saving his entire household (Gen. 37:6–10), and he knew that being in Egypt was somehow connected to the fulfillment of those dreams. It is possible that because Joseph had hidden those dreams in his heart, a beautiful woman was unable to pull his dreams out and fill his heart with another purpose.
