I would never be afraid of Satan reading my mind—but I have discovered that I must be careful of him reading my lips and of the spirit world hearing my words and using them against me in the heavenly court. Satan is the accuser of the brethren before God day and night! G UARD Y OUR M OUTH AND Y OUR M IND Any believer can control visual and verbal information entering the mind by refusing to look at what is being seen or hear what is being spoken. However, we are weak when it comes to guarding our mouth, often not understanding that as Satan brings accusations about us before God, he can only use two things to prove his case—actions and words. There is an expression, “Loose lips sink ships,” and I will add, “Loose lips stop spiritual breakthroughs.” Years ago I had been intently praying for someone very close to me who was struggling with personal problems. I had felt this person was making no effort to seek needed help and actually had no desire to be freed from a particular enduring bondage. I had prayed, believed, confessed, and at times would see a step of progress. Two days later it was three steps backward. I had witnessed this cycle, like watching a running back gain ten yards in two plays then being dropped in the backfield for a twenty-yard loss. On this occasion we were seeing progress when suddenly I received a phone call that something had happened, setting the person back again. For some reason the stress of that season
