T HERE MAY BE a slight challenge in the way we introduce a redemptive covenant to the unconverted souls. When we present the gospel in a manner to imply that once we have received Christ, many of our problems will cease and difficulties will subside, we do an injustice to both the message and the seeker. Some young converts are surprised to discover that the same darts of temptations that were shot into their mind tempting them to sin before conversion are still flying in their direction after receiving Christ. In light of the fact that temptation never ceases, even after you are converted to Christ, two things must be understood: the psychology of satanic temptation and the power of the Holy Spirit to renew the mind using the “shield of faith,” that quenches Satan’s burning arrows (Eph. 6:16).
