These continual bombardments of negative thoughts against your mind seem to never cease. They are ever present, especially when you are on the verge of a dynamic spiritual breakthrough. During my earlier ministry I would hear a believer confess: “The devil is telling me such and such, and the enemy is lying to me.” I would respond, “So you know these mental thoughts are not from the Lord but are from the adversary?” That individual would answer, “Yes, of course.” I would reply, “Are you aware Christ taught that Satan is a liar and the father of lies in John 8:44?” Again the believer would reply, “Yes, I know that!” I would then respond, “If you know the statement is a lie and the voice is coming from a liar, why are you even entertaining a lie when you know it is a lie?” After saying this, many times the person would look at me with a blank stare, then a gentle smile would slowly break across this face. It was as though light suddenly filled a dark room. You cannot trust a perpetual liar any more than you would trust a kleptomaniac whose reputation is to steal each day and run off with your valuable possessions. T HE T HREE B IGGEST B LUFFS OF THE E NEMY I certainly do not underestimate the subtle and crafty deceptive influence of the enemy, neither do I ignore his influence in the lives of millions.
