Remember that the same powerful word from God that set you free can also set free the very person preaching the message to you, as the Word of God is “quick [alive], and powerful [energized], and sharper than any twoedged sword” (Heb. 4:12, KJV ). The Word of God divides the soul from the spirit, or separates the carnal man from the spirit man! This is why a believer can experience a refreshing in his or her mind after sitting under an anointed word from the Lord. The sword of the Spirit begins to cut away the clutter and the weights that are attached to the soul or mind of the listeners. T HE P ROCESS OF T OTAL F REEDOM For a believer to have total confidence in his approach to God, he must have a sense of the righteousness of God and confidence in his relationship with Him. All condemnation must be removed, and a believer must see himself or herself as a son or daughter of the Most High, someone who is loved by the heavenly Father and who has a covenantal relationship with Him. As believers we do not need to be taught the basic elements of repentance and forgiveness, because it was repentance that introduced us to the new covenant of redemption. There are no words to express the feelings a sinner experiences when Christ forgives him of sin. The phrase coined by Christ—“born again” (John 3:3)—best describes the sense of a new lease on life, a new beginning. “Born again” can mean to procreate a new person .
