who lacks confidence, especially in conversation. A person lacking confidence often points out his distresses, failures, and lack of friends, and he focuses in on the negatives surrounding his life and seldom accepts a challenge for fear he might not succeed. A confident person will take on any challenge, and if he fails, he will try again until he succeeds. The power of condemnation is such a strong weapon in the arsenal of the enemy. The adversary certainly does not want you to understand how it works and how to defeat his mental darts. E XAMPLES OF C ONDEMNATION The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, but once you are forgiven, He does not bring additional guilt or condemnation. Condemnation after being forgiven is evidence of the enemy playing on the minds of believers, hoping to make them feel a lack of God’s love for them. They will say, “There is no way that God can still love me after I have fallen so low in the mire of sin.” This will be followed by comments such as, “There is no way God would hear me pray, because I have failed Him.” The third level concludes with, “I may as well give up and quit, because I have ruined my life and the lives of my family members.” All of this is caused by the weapon of condemnation. This occurs especially when a noted minister falls into a moral or spiritual assault such as adultery, drunkenness, or financial scandal. I know of one man, whom I consider a long-
