Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honored. —Proverbs 13:18 I believe the reason poverty rules so many lives is because people have never entered into a life-changing covenant of redemption provided through the new covenant. Christ’s redemptive covenant can bring deliverance from expensive habits and addictions, and it reforms the human thinking and spirit. The foundation of God’s life principles is penned in the Torah. The civil and judicial laws instruct us on our relationship with others. The moral laws instruct us on our personal conduct. The sacrificial laws instruct us on how to put God first in our spiritual life. How we treat others is a reflection of our character. How we treat ourselves is a reflection of our convictions. How we treat the blessing and favor of God is a reflection of our covenant relationship with Him. Spiritual blessings have conditions. One of the significant conditions to receiving the fullness of blessings from biblical covenants is the willingness to forgive those who have wronged you.
