between Jordan and Israel. When my feet touched Israeli soil, I was immediately overwhelmed with emotion, which continued for hours, climaxing after arriving in Tiberias for our overnight stay. At the hotel, as I stood outside the door of my room I noticed a strange object that was attached to the right side of the outside door frame. It was a permanently affixed rectangular metal object about four inches long. I later discovered that these religious objects are attached to the outside door frames in Torah-observant Jewish homes and outside the rooms of Jewish-owned hotels in Israel. This mysterious object was called a mezuzah . Since learning its meaning, I have affixed the mezuzah to the
door frame of my house. The mezuzah developed from the command in the Torah for the Hebrews to place the Word of God on the posts and gates of their homes.
