by Paul’s promise that a believing woman would be spared in childbirth (1 Tim. 2:13–15). When a woman enters heavy labor, certain physical dangers exist. However, believers must again lay hold of this promise, reminding God that the child needs its mother and that He has promised to rebuke death as the woman walks through the seasons of travail to give birth. Fourth promise: The child will be blessed. The fourth promise for the parents is that God’s will is to bless the child with a good mind, a healthy body, and a spiritual inclination to follow God. The Lord will “give you increase more and more, you and your children” (Ps. 115:14). Of Samson it is written: “The child grew, and the LORD blessed him” (Judg. 13:24). We read of John the Baptist: “So the child grew and became strong in spirit” (Luke 1:80). Of Christ we read, “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him” (Luke 2:40). Because you are a spiritual seed of Abraham, your children too shall be blessed!
