The age thirteen It is possible this is the age of accountability, and it is important to honor this time of entering into adulthood and the age of responsibility with celebration—and not with the attitude of, “Now you’re on your own . . . time to grow up . . . you’re not a baby anymore . . . ” Christian parents can customize a special ceremony and a meal at home or book a private room for family and friends to join in a celebration. Have friends read letters expressing what your son or daughter means to them. Mother and Dad should affirm the child publicly, yet without embarrassing them. (They are teenagers now.)
