Breaking The Jewish Code Perry Stone

3. In the heavenly temple: In a.d. 70, the Jewish temple in Jerusalem was destroyed. However, John saw a heavenly temple with twenty-four elders and one hundred forty four thousand Jews from twelve tribes playing harps and singing new songs (Rev. 4:10; 14:1–3). Hebrew songs focus on God—His power, majesty, mercy, and ability. The songs are based upon the many stories in the Torah and Prophets. It is noted that Jewish praying is more worship than petitioning God for needs to be met. “The song is critical to a correct understanding of Jewish prayers. As Herschel has observed, ‘Let us not misunderstand the nature of prayer, particularly in Jewish tradition. The primary purpose of prayer is not to make request. The primary purpose is to praise, to sing, to chant. Because the essence of prayer is song, and man cannot live without a song.’”22 I keep gospel music CDs in our home, in both vehicles, and in my office. Studies have indicated that when children listen to music, they are able to perform certain cognitive computer skills, such as solving computer math puzzles, faster.23 Other studies have shown that spending just thirty minutes a day listening to music has a beneficial effect on blood pressure.24 Some studies have even shown that listening to classical music, such as Mozart, can increase IQ scores.25
