83 "Yes, that is exactly what Father showed me in that dream. He showed me how the helmet of salvation comes down over our head to protect it. He told me that when those demons of fear first hit me I should have instantly rebuked them in the name of Jesus, commanding them to flee, refus ing to accept them because I was protected by the helmet. They got to me because I accepted the attack instead of repulsing it. Then He showed me the breast plate of righteousness and how it protects our chest. The belt of truth is like a girdle and is the only piece of armor that goes around our back. You know, like the armor the Roman sol diers wore. The shield is big, almost as tall as we are. And, the sword is exactly as you had it drawn on the front of your two books. It is pure white light with a golden handle." Rebecca nodded. "Yes, how do you think I knew how to have the artist draw the sword?" "You never told me you had seen it." Joyce said. "But, come to think of it, I suspect there is quite a lot you haven’t told __ _ M me. Rebecca laughed. "Yes, I suppose there is. I remember very well a few occasions when I had to use the armor of God in the physical world. I first learned about its reality when the Lord allowed some demons to physically manifest and try to kill me. Then, the Holy Spirit showed me that we have that armor by faith and can use it when He directs us to do so." "So when did you use it?" Joyce asked. "Well, one time was several years ago when I was still in medical practice. I had gone back into the hospital to see a patient in the middle of the night. The parking lot for the doctors was a short walk from the hospital, and the hospi tal wasn’t in a very good section of town. I had to walk alone Chapter 5 The Armor of God
