145 No you didn’t. You are looking for a pat on the back. You should have emptied it simply because it was the right thing to do. You see, when you do things just because someone else ex pects you to, you will have a lot of anger towards the other person. "I have to do so-and-so because my wife expects it!" Or, "I have to do so-and so or my mom will get mad!" How many times have you heard such statements? The sad thing is, we treat God in the same way. We become angry at God because we feel we "have to do" certain things because the Lord demands it. NOT doing the right thing is sin. I believe greater than 75% of all the problems amongst church members would be solved if people would grow up and begin to operate as this one scripture tells us. DO the right thing! I never cease to be amazed at how people can walk right past something that they can see needs to be done, and simply not do it! This is a mark of immaturity. It is because of this attitude in our lives that the Lord must chastise us so often. That’s where the trouble starts in our relationship with Him! I well remember one day when I was driving to work when the Lord spoke to me and told me that I must begin to bring some discipline into the lives of two young women who had come to live in my home about a month previously. I had been through the cycle many times, and I was tired and didn’t want the hassle. I said, "Oh Father, I just don’t think it is worth the hassle! Whenever I try to do such a thing people try to send me on such guilt trips! They say things like ‘Who do you think YOU are? Who made YOU God!’" The Lord’s answer was clear and forceful.
