Chapter 7 7 Releasing Evangelists

vangelists are not intended to be stuck in the government of the Church. They need to be free to minister to the lost, as the pastors are free to minister to the sheep. The Church has had less of a problem recognizing and releasing evangelists. They were not a threat to most pastors because they were a traveling ministry. The church also believed in the ministry of the evangelist as one viable for today. The apostles and prophets have not fared as well. E Evangelists will help bring in the harvest. Evangelists need to be connected to apostolic churches. Apostolic churches are structured to be able to handle and maintain the harvest that comes through evangelism. Philip the Evangelist called for the apostles to come to Samaria after seeing an evangelistic breakthrough. It is not enough to see people saved. They must be baptized in the Holy Spirit and incorporated into the Church. The apostles came to lay hands on the believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 8). The apostles can teach, train, and impart to the new believers after the evangelist leaves. There are many evangelists sitting in our pews who need to be released. The apostle's vision should be large enough to incorporate and release them into the vision of the church. They need to be recognized, ordained, and released.
