Chapter 5 5 Developing Teams

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach. Mark 3:14 esus ordained the twelve to be a part of His team. As members of His team, they could then be sent forth. As leaders develop teams, they will be able to send the team members forth. Apostolic leaders ordain and release. This is the pattern of ministry given by our Lord. Jesus is the apostle of our profession. He is the perfect apostle. As an apostle, He released other apostles. We will see apostles that ordain and release other apostles. J If a leader is to make a successful transition from a pastoral into an apostolic role, he must develop a team of leaders that will help carry the burden of ministry. Without a strong team, the burden of ministry in the local work will fall directly upon him. The development of the team will help release the leader into an apostolic role. It will free him to move out into a greater ministry to the larger body of Christ. It is crucial to release pastors to tend to the flock. It is also important to develop a team of governmental leaders who continue to give direction and oversight to the work. In Crusaders Church, we have seen a team of apostles,
