Deliverance is necessary to attack and drive out religious spirits that have aborted and hindered much of what God desires to do. Spirits of witchcraft and generational spirits must also be challenged and driven out. Deliverance opens the way for holiness. Cleanliness and purity must be in place to keep the Church from being diverted from its course. Deliverance will strengthen the local church. Contending with demons and overcoming them will inspire faith and confidence. The level of discernment will also increase. Members will have their senses exercised to discern good and evil (Hebrews 5:14). This will enable them to handle the strong meat of the Word. They will become adept in spiritual warfare and will be able to handle the pressure that comes with apostolic ministry. Apostolic ministry is a tough ministry that requires fortitude and perseverance. The experience gained in casting out demons is invaluable. One of the functions of the apostolic ministry is warfare. The word warfare in 2 Corinthians 10:4, is the Greek word strateia, which means apostolic career. The apostolic career is one of warfare. Deliverance helps the believers to learn warfare. God teaches our hands to war and our fingers to fight (Psalm 144:1). Apostolic churches are warring churches. They have the grace and anointing to pull down strongholds. There are many strongholds that will not be pulled down without an apostolic anointing. Two of the outstanding characteristics of an apostolic ministry are power and authority (Matthew 10:1).
